Just for back up
I purchased an Oreck Professional air cleaner, and it has been the best air cleaner I have ever had. Initially when I received it and had to clean it for the first time, I was not happy. Its not the easiest to clean. (Especially if you are a smoker)
Upon researching, I found, of coarse Orecks Cell cleaner for a ridiculous price. I started digging into other's reviews on their product.
I have found purchasing couple bottles of some good old fashion Rubbing Alcohol to be the best cleaner imaginable.
I have a bin, about the same size as the Cell, I fill it with the Alcohol and let it sit for a little bit. Pull it out, rub a couple Q-tips along it, rinse it off and BOOM back in business with an almost as clean as new Cell but for only a couple dollars to clean. (I buy the alcohol at the dollar store.) I am purchasing this as a back up as I am also purchasing another Oreck Professional Air Cleaner.

Works for what I needed. I just found out you could take your bad one in and get it exchanged out. Just take it in to your local Oreck shop. Oh well, it's a learning lesson. Was glad I found this replacement anyway. Through the old one out before I knew you could take it in. I guess they have a lifetime warranty.
Always need a stand-by
I have had an Oreck air purifier for a few years now and every time you need to clean this cell, you have to wait a good while to let it dry before you can continue using the machine or it will not work. So, I bought this to put in while I am soaking and drying the other one.Works out great because you don't have to turn the machine of only to change out the cells. The price isn't really that bad in regards to what it does. Thanks.
