Good little inexpensive appliance for that area without a kitchen.
Inexpensive. Straight forward. Does very well the simple job I wanted it to do. No bells and whistles, but that's what I was looking for. Product information said the only cool touch while operating was the control knob, but nothing but the burner itself gets hot enough to burn anyone.
Not as ordered, but it works fine.
I ordered this hotplate as I needed an extra burner around my kitchen. The hotplate is not as pictured - I received a 3 coil (not 4), 1000 W (not 1100 W) burner in a square form factor. The benefit of the one I received is the form factor looks a lot shorter, but it's not as powerful. For my needs, it's fine, and I'm not complaining, but buyer beware that what you receive may differ from what's pictured.
Works great for lighting hookah coals!
I purchased this single coil burner so that I could light natural coconut coals for my hookah and it works wonderfully! It seems cheaply made, but it lights the coals almost as fast as my coil burner stove does. (Had to get this since my roommates complained and it's handy for travelling.)
I haven't cooked anything on it, but I would assume that if it could light coals, it would work fine for cooking food.
